Intergenerational Solutions Program

Trained youth and ALA facilitators are working with seniors to solve community problems, tapping into the wisdom and skills of the seniors and providing youth the opportunity to demonstrate problem solving, leadership and critical thinking in real world situations. The youth learn the real world process of addressing a community issue, writing business letters, making presentations and networking.

Projects are conducted with other community organizations and include:

  • • Environmental projects such as beach and creek clean-ups

  • • Land restoration and beautification

  • • Feeding the hungry

  • • Coats for the homeless

  • • Creating community organizers
